We at Advanced Gauging Technologies are proud to announce the startup of two AGT400 Isotope upgrades in Mill Steel’s Melvindale plant. One upgrade is on their #79 line, and the other is on the #74 line. Mill Steel has worked with us on upgrading many of their obsolete isotope gauges, and has enjoyed consistent service, inspections, and accurate results.

Steel Technologies of Portage, Indiana has completed their startup for a brand-new AGT800XT Laser Thickness Gauge. This gauge will be located on a 72″ Fagor slitting line, measuring various steel alloys.

Steel Technologies has been a longstanding customer of ours, and will continue to reap the benefits of our many products. With an AGT800XT Laser Thickness Gauge, they will be able to measure steel thickness without needing to slow or stop production, and will have access to data collection and storage for all of their measurements. The gauge stores SPC information either onto a disk or network drive, which boosts efficiency and removes the clutter of paper storage. With this investment, Steel Technologies is investing in their own long-term success.

Ohio Pickling & Processing has received its AGT800 Thickness Gauge and has completed its startup. It will be replacing an AGT400 on a 72” Wean Pickle Line on various steel alloys.

The AGT800 Laser Thickness Gauge is able to measure much thicker material than competing thickness gauges, and measures at an accuracy of < 0.0004″. For applications such as pickle lines, rolling mills, cut-to-length lines, slitters, and galvanizing lines, the AGT800 Thickness Gauge is an accurate, reliable, durable option. Venture Steel of Mexico has received a brand-new AGT800XT to measure steel thickness on their 62″ Athader slitting line and is awaiting its startup.

Their new gauge, when started up, will give reliable, accurate measurements while remaining non-contact, lowering the risk of wear and tear on the material and the gauge. The AGT800XT also provides SPC reporting, printable readouts of each coil, and can store individual coil data on a network or local database.
