Voss Taylor Purchases AGT Width Gauge

Voss Industries of Taylor, Michigan has sent a purchase order for our AGT High-Precision Width Gauge. This gauge will be installed onto their 72″ custom pickling line, measuring various steel alloys. Our AGT Width Gauge will provide Voss with accurate readings and graphical representation of both coil width and centerline deviation. This information can then be sent to a level 2 system to assist with quality control in real-time, greatly improving production speed and product quality.

Our High-Precision lasers are able to measure material as accurately as ±0.005″. Additionally, compared to obsolete width gauges, our laser gauge does not require any emitters, reflectors, or backlights, requiring minimal space to fit onto a processing line with no moving parts.

With this purchase, Voss Taylor joins Voss Clark in their pursuit of accurate, reliable width and centerline readings. If you’re interested in our AGT Width Gauge, more information can be found on our product page, and you can request a quote here. Not only do we lead the industry in our accuracy and reliability, but we also aim directly for our customers’ pain points. We look to shape our products to meet each customer’s unique needs. That’s how measuring is made easy with AGT!

AGT400 Startup Completed in Phoenix Metals

Phoenix Metals has completed the startup of their AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauge. The gauge was installed onto their 72″ Red Bud CTL line, where it will process aluminum, stainless steel, HRPO, and various coated carbon products.

Phoenix also has purchased our TCP/IP HMI Communication and Offline Data Analysis software packages. Our TCP/IP Communication capabilities help greatly improve productivity by allowing our AGT400 to receive commands and inputs directly from an upper-level PLC. Our Offline Data Analysis software also allows for data to be pulled and analyzed without interrupting production. With these options, Phoenix has entirely invested in productivity and efficiency, helping our gauge seamlessly and effectively integrate into their existing framework.

Mill Steel Orders Two New AGT400s

Mill Steel has purchased two AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauges for their reducing mill in Birmingham, Alabama. These gauges will be installed at the entry and exit sides of their new 18″ Ruesch reduction mill. Our AGT400s will provide documentation and detailed coil reports for Mill Steel’s plantwide network while providing industry-leading accuracy and reliability.

This will be Mill Steel’s third and fourth purchases within a span of three months, following their recent upgrading of two obsolete gauges in Melvindale using our AGT400 Upgrade service. Following these four purchases, Mill Steel will be enjoying easy-to-use automated thickness measurement on many of their processing lines.

AGT400 Upgrades Shipped to Mill Steel

Mill Steel has received two AGT400 Upgrade packages from Advanced Gauging Technologies. This is the next step in replacing their current obsolete isotope gauges. By re-using their current C-frames and hardware, Mill Steel is saving on costs while enjoying the benefits of a greatly improved thickness gauge.

Obsolete gauges are often more trouble to remove than they are worth. Here at A.G.T., we work to ensure that gauges don’t go to waste. Where removing a gauge, doing the paperwork to ship its source off, and replacing the gauge can be extremely costly and time-consuming, we’ve worked to make our AGT400 Upgrade service a quick, cost-effective solution to solve both problems at the same time! If you have an obsolete isotope gauge that could use an upgrade, you can find our Upgrade service explained in detail here.
