Startup Complete at Voss Taylor

This week, our technicians have completed the startup with Voss Taylor for their new AGT High-Precision Width Gauge. This gauge was installed onto their custom pickling line and will measure various types of steel alloys.

Now that the gauge is started up, Voss Taylor will enjoy more accurate measurements while our gauge takes up minimal space on the line. Now, both Voss Clark and Voss Taylor are utilizing our AGT Width Gauge on their pickling lines. Both built to fit onto any line and built to last, our AGT Width Gauge is a great investment for any company looking to save time, money, and material.

Cleveland Cliffs Purchases AGT Width Gauge

Cleveland Cliffs’ Columbus Coating facility has completed the purchase of one AGT Width Gauge. This gauge will be installed onto their custom galvanizing line, measuring between 36 and 72″ sheet widths.

This gauge will be replacing an obsolete Harris Scan-a-Line Width Gauge. Our AGT Width Gauge sets itself apart from the competition with its conical lasers, requiring no backlights or emitters. This allows the gauge to easily fit onto a wide variety of processing lines. Additionally, due to our software’s method of calculations, the AGT Width Gauge has virtually no maximum width reading! By purchasing our AGT Width Gauge, Cleveland Cliffs is dedicating itself to remaining on top of their contemporaries, reducing downtime and increasing accuracy for their products.

Two AGT400 Upgrades Started Up in Mill Steel (MI)

The two obsolete ESC gauges at Mill Steel’s Melvindale location have been fully upgraded to AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauges.

By purchasing our AGT400 Upgrade, Mill Steel makes the wise choice to re-use their existing frame, while upgrading their obsolete software and hardware.

Many metal toll processors with outdated, obsolete thickness gauges come across a dilemma, where they must decide whether to continue using their outdated gauge, or spend money both decommissioning their current gauges and purchasing brand new ones. At AGT, we offer a happy middle-ground in which the C-Frame, source head, and detector head are all re-used, while the obsolete electronics and wiring are replaced by AGT400 parts. This helps save a great amount of money while still ensuring that the gauge measures true. That’s Measuring Made Easy!

High-Precision AGT Width Gauge Delivered to Voss Taylor

Voss Taylor has recently received their AGT Width Gauge.

This gauge will be installed by our technicians onto their 72″ pickling line to measure various steel alloys. Our gauge will help provide key measurements required for quality control, helping improve production speed and operator safety.

In comparison to competing and obsolete width gauges, our AGT Width Gauge does not require emitters, reflectors, or backlights. Due to this, our gauge is capable of being installed onto most processing lines with minimal space required. Additionally, our Width Gauge has no moving parts, minimizing the possibility of accidents that will require repairs or maintenance.

This gauge will be started up in early June. From there, Voss will utilize our high-precision lasers to further improve on product quality.

Voss Taylor Purchases AGT Width Gauge

Voss Industries of Taylor, Michigan has sent a purchase order for our AGT High-Precision Width Gauge. This gauge will be installed onto their 72″ custom pickling line, measuring various steel alloys. Our AGT Width Gauge will provide Voss with accurate readings and graphical representation of both coil width and centerline deviation. This information can then be sent to a level 2 system to assist with quality control in real-time, greatly improving production speed and product quality.

Our High-Precision lasers are able to measure material as accurately as ±0.005″. Additionally, compared to obsolete width gauges, our laser gauge does not require any emitters, reflectors, or backlights, requiring minimal space to fit onto a processing line with no moving parts.

With this purchase, Voss Taylor joins Voss Clark in their pursuit of accurate, reliable width and centerline readings. If you’re interested in our AGT Width Gauge, more information can be found on our product page, and you can request a quote here. Not only do we lead the industry in our accuracy and reliability, but we also aim directly for our customers’ pain points. We look to shape our products to meet each customer’s unique needs. That’s how measuring is made easy with AGT!
