Our AGT800XT Laser Thickness Gauge offers many benefits compared to competing gauges; primarily, having a laser-based gauge helps to avoid the paperwork and costs of isotope gauges.
However, what sets our laser gauges apart from competing gauges most of all is their expansive measurement capabilities. Isotope gauges are largely restricted to metal applications, due to the method of measurement. Our laser gauges, however, are capable of measuring plastics, paper, rubber composites, PVC, and various other materials, on top of being able to measure each metal that the AGT400 can. Our AGT800XT can measure material on extruders, measure emboss depth, and the gauge’s advanced software, developed in-house, is able to create printable graphs and reports for each finished job.
Where the AGT400 has restraints in thickness that result in a maximum thickness of ~0.400″, the AGT800XT is able to reliably measure material with a thickness of up to an inch, while remaining accurate down to 0.003″. Our laser gauges have been able to help many applications and centers that operate outside of the steel service industry, and has become one of our most reliable, high-tech, accurate products. For a large variety of applications where an isotope gauge just won’t cut it, our AGT800XT is the best-in-industry solution!

Phoenix Metals has received its AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauge and is preparing for upcoming installation. This gauge will see use on a 72″ Red Bud CTL line.
Liberty Steel has recently purchased a 72″ ProEco slitter from Worthington Industries with one of our AGT400 gauges included. Liberty Steel has purchased a replacement source for the AGT400 Isotope Gauge, and will be installing it between March and April of next year.
