Thomas Steel Strip Orders New Gauge

Thomas Steel Strip Corporation, Warren, OH, has ordered a new AGT400 thickness gauge to replace an obsolete LFE gauge on a temper mill.  This gauge will be used to process low carbon steels, HSLA steel, along with copper, brass, nickel and nickel-zinc alloys with a thickness range of .008 to .079”.  Thomas plans to take advantage of the AGT400’s networking capabilities along with the options for automated data entry and automated data gathering.  Shipment is scheduled for late October 2016.

AGT400 Installed At Metals U.S.A.

Metals USA in Madison, Illinois is now a proud owner of an AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauge. The AGT400 replaced an obsolete GR200. The measuring system is installed on a 72” Alcos slitter and used to measure the thickness on various steel alloys. This is the third Metals USA facility to switch over to Advanced Gauging for their thickness gauging requirements.

Esmark Installs Third Gauge Of The Year

A third AGT400 has been installed at Chicago Heights’ Esmark. The AGT400 thickness measuring system will replace an outdated GR200 for use on a 60” Stamco slitter to measure the thickness of various steel alloys with a thickness of <.135”.  This service center will install two more gauges this year.

Two AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauges Installed

Advanced Gauging Technologies has successfully completed the commissioning of two more AGT400s at USS-Posco Industries (Pittsburg, California). Both gauges were installed on a pickle line tandem cold mill (PLTCM) and are measuring steel with a thickness range of .030 to .200”. These gauges replaced obsolete Weston 3000 thickness measurement systems.

Another AGT400 Ships To Esmark

Another AGT400 has left our Plain City headquarters and is heading for Chicago Heights where it will be installed in Esmark’s service center. This gauge will replace an outdated GR200 and will be installed on a 60” Stamco slitter to measure the thickness of various steel alloys with a thickness of <.135”. This is Esmark’s third of five scheduled upgrades.
