Introduction |
Advanced Gauging Technologies (A.G.T.) was founded in 1997 by the father and son team of Ron and Scott Cook. Their goal was to bring isotope thickness gauging into the 21st century. In just over four years since the first AGT400 system startup, A.G.T. has sold more than 115 gauging systems – strong evidence that customers feel we have delivered tomorrow's gauging system today. In addition to our own gauges, we perform regular service on more than 300 of our competitors' gauges throughout North America. The Gauging Times™ is a quarterly newsletter designed to keep current and future customers up-to-date with the latest thickness gauging technology and features, along with services we offer. In each issue we'll share some of our system's unique capabilities, in addition to personal profiles, technical tips and glimpses of our future product development. |

Personal Profiles |
As many of our customers have known for years, we at A.G.T. are always looking for ways to improve our top-of-the-line thickness gauge. Our interface and software are what make our gauge the best in the market. To that end, we are consistently upgrading our AGT400 software, and we don't just trust that duty to anybody. A.G.T. is proud to introduce the newest editions to our software development team, Ed Helwig and Daryl Ward! Ed, born in Stuttgart, Germany, is currently a consulting engineer to Honda R&D, located in Marysville, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. Ed then went on to serve 22 years in the U.S. Army where he was a Chief Warrant Officer, and among other things, a UH-60 Blackhawk Instructor Pilot. Ed has obtained certifications as an IBM Linux Specialist and a Redhat Linux Developer, as well as a consulting programmer to the animation movie industry. Ed currently resides in Westerville, Ohio, and with wife Michelle (Cook) are expecting their first child in August. Ed's hobbies include, you guessed it, computers.
Daryl and Ed hard at work on the next revision! Daryl, born and raised in central Ohio, is a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned his degree in Computer Science from the college of Business Administration. After college Daryl went to work in the health insurance industry where he advanced through the ranks from programmer to analyst to project leader and finally into management. Daryl has worked on a wide array of computers from PC's to mainframes and achieved the PMP designation from the Project Management Institute in 2002. Daryl currently lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with his wife and two teenage daughters. His hobbies include membership in the National Ski Patrol, winter camping (no bugs), scuba diving, and coaching volleyball. |
