We enjoyed meeting new friends at METALCON in Las Vegas this week. If you missed it, you can always visit ALUMINUM USA in Nashville next week.
Tarkett (Florence) has ordered two AGT800 laser thickness measurement gauges for their 60-inch tile line that processes material with thickness range of .012 up to .160. These systems were specifically designed to automate their calendaring and embossing processes.
Samuel, Son & Co. – Columbia, Tennessee is the home of a new AGT800 laser thickness gauge. This gauge is installed on an 84” Alcos slitter and will measure thickness of steel up to .160.” This is Samuel’s sixth A.G.T. thickness gauge.
Isotope thickness gauges are actually transmission gauges. This means they transmit radiation through the material to be measured. Physics blessed us with an isotope (Am241) that emits constant gamma radiation at an energy level (60 keV) ideal for measuring steel. Thin steel blocks a little of the radiation, and thicker steel blocks most of it. We use a detector on …
Our revolutionary laser thickness measuring equipment has recently been installed at a pole and pipe manufacturing plant in eastern Ohio. This system is complete with two gauges that will work in sync with one another to measure the wall thickness of long length pipes and poles. This puts McWane Ductile at the forefront of precision and quality in the industry.
Concord Steel Centre Ltd. (Woodbridge, ON) will receive an AGT800 Laser Thickness Gauge for use on a 60” Pro-Eco slitting line. This thickness gauge will replace an obsolete Weston 5310 isotope thickness gauge which will be decertified in Canada January 2017. This revolutionary laser gauge will measure steel up to .270”. Installation is scheduled for November.
Two measuring systems which will work in sync with one another and measure the wall thickness of pipe/pole has been shipped to Coshocton, Ohio. McWane Ductile purchased this revolutionary new laser measuring equipment in order to raise quality standards in the industry. Commissioning of the gauges will happen later this month.
An AGT800 has been installed on a vinyl sheeting extrusion line in North Carolina. The laser gauge will measure thickness of material produced on this line comes in various colors up to .500”.
